Sun Light Supply has three ballast lines, we only stock two of
their best lines (for obvious reasons).
The Sun System 1 (SS1) ballast is Sun Light Supply's'
best ballast. It comes with a 5-year warranty; it is very quiet and is made in the USA.
The Maximizer ballast we feel is Sun Light Supply's'
best low cost system. It also comes with a 5-year warrantee and is made in the USA.
The Econo ballast (we do not stock) is made over seas and only comes with
a 2-year warrantee.
Word for the wise: Make sure when you are shopping around that you know for sure
what ballast system you are getting.
A Metal Halide (MH) bulb emits light from the blue to white range of the
light spectrum. This light is great for the vegetative growth stage of a plant.
A High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) bulb emits light from the orange and red
spectrum. This is best for the flowering and blooming stage of a plant. |

Sun Light Supply makes a switchable ballast.
This ballast enables you to use a standard MH bulb for vegetative growth and with a flip
of a switch, you are able to replace the MH bulb with a HPS bulb for the flowering and
blooming stage.
Words for the wise: Sun Light Supply was the first company to come out with this
type of system, so be aware of cheap imitations, you will be sorry.
